Product questions · 15 answersFrequently asked questions.
Everything you may want to know before starting a brief: what you receive, how evidence claims are verified, how checkout and delivery work, and where the product boundary lies. Quick Validation — one defined question for one named destination — is the first sale-ready product. Deep-dive and Discovery remain visible as planned editions, but are not yet for sale. The banner beside pricing identifies whether the current deployment is free, Stripe test mode or live.
01What does a TaxoTax brief contain?
A Quick Validation brings one defined relocation question into a reviewable document for one named destination. It covers residence and day-count rules, rates relevant to your stated income mix, the three costliest pitfalls, cited findings, excluded evidence claims, an advisor checklist and a dated source register. Values that do not pass the run's verification gate stay unavailable rather than falling back to an uncited snapshot. You receive the report in the language you used and in English, with a PDF attached to the delivery email; quoted source passages stay in their original language as evidence.
02I can ask a free AI chatbot about tax. What does a verified brief add?
A TaxoTax brief adds an inspectable verification chain. Research runs only against a fixed, published list of primary and professional reference domains, and each research citation is treated as a lead. Verification fetches the selected URL again without a cached copy; a separate verification step assesses the complete claim, then code checks that every numeric token in the published finding appears unchanged in the stored passage. Claims that do not pass are excluded and listed. A typical chat answer does not show which candidate claims were rejected — the brief does.
03How do citations and verification work?
Every published finding is linked to a dated citation, and the supporting passage fetched during verification is stored with the report. The separate verifier marks a candidate supported, partial or unsupported; only full support can pass. A deterministic gate then checks the source URL, stored passage and every numeric token before assembly. Ambiguity is handled in the advisor checklist, not presented as a settled conclusion. The full methodology is published on the how-we-verify page.
04How long does delivery take?
Quick Validation usually completes in 5 to 8 minutes. Actual time depends on source availability and verification retries, so that is a target rather than a guaranteed deadline. The private progress page shows persisted stages plus real source and figure counts; it does not invent a percentage. The private link also arrives by email when the brief is ready. Deep-dive and Discovery delivery targets will be published when those editions pass their release gate.
05Do I need an account?
No account is needed at any point. The instant check runs directly in your browser, and a generated brief is delivered to a private link that only you receive. There is no signup, no password and no profile; your inputs serve one purpose, preparing your report.
06How long does my report stay available?
Your finished report remains available at its private link for 12 months. The address is random and unguessable, so bookmarking it is the only step you need to take. A PDF is attached to the delivery email, and you can download the PDF again from the private report page at any time within that period.
07What do the pricing tiers include and what do they cost?
Quick Validation covers one defined relocation question for one named destination. Its base price is USD 149, EUR 149, GBP 129 or CHF 139. The selected currency persists for the browser tab; in a live checkout Stripe shows the final total and any applicable tax before payment. Deep-dive and Discovery are planned editions with indicative reference amounts, not products currently offered for sale. A free deployment takes no payment; a Stripe test deployment accepts only test cards and cannot create a real charge.
08Is there a money-back guarantee?
For an accepted live order, the verification promise is specific: if a cited passage fails to support a published numeric figure, contact info@relmos.ch within 30 days of delivery with the figure and citation. TaxoTax reviews the stored evidence and refunds the order in full when the promise was breached. If generation permanently fails before a completed brief is released, TaxoTax initiates a full refund; the email says so only after Stripe accepts the refund request. Free and Stripe test deployments take no real payment.
09Who is TaxoTax for?
TaxoTax is built for internationally mobile professionals, founders and investors who are weighing a move between countries and want to walk into their advisor meeting prepared. If you have meaningful income, a business, a portfolio or equity at stake, a brief turns the groundwork hours of paid advisory time into a focused conversation about judgement and execution.
10When is a licensed advisor the right next step?
You need a licensed tax advisor or lawyer when you want returns prepared and filed, representation before a tax authority, a binding opinion on your specific facts, or documents drafted and executed. A brief is designed to make exactly that engagement shorter and sharper: it arrives structured for professional review, with sources your advisor can check and open questions already framed.
11Who reviews the briefs?
Briefs are machine-generated and pass an automated verification chain enforced at generation time; the methodology is published on the how-we-verify page. No brief carries a human professional signature. Every brief is deliberately structured for review with your own qualified advisor or lawyer.
12Is a brief tax advice?
A brief is orientation material prepared for review with a qualified tax advisor or lawyer. It gives you freshly fetched evidence passages, cited findings and a structured picture of your situation, so professional time goes into judgement on your specific facts. Rules in this area are often person-dependent — residence ties, treaty tie-breakers, exit-tax exposure — and your advisor applies current law to your circumstances before you act.
13Is TaxoTax available everywhere?
Briefs are currently not offered to customers located in Germany or using Germany as their current tax residence. The location check is repeated before checkout, and billing-country information can act as a second control. Every published page, guide and the free instant check remain open. Daily generation capacity is limited; when it is reached, no checkout is created.
14Which countries are covered?
The curated dataset behind the free instant check covers 196 countries, and twenty destination jurisdictions carry full published guides — from Portugal, the UAE and Switzerland to Singapore, Cyprus and Uruguay. Report research runs live against current sources at generation time, so any route can be requested; the brief states openly where source coverage is thin.
15How fresh is the data?
Generated briefs are verified at the moment of generation: the selected source for each candidate claim is fetched again while your report is produced, and the citation of record is the passage retrieved for your report, stamped with its retrieval date. A source that cannot be fetched cannot support a published claim. The free instant check is separate: it draws on a curated 2026 dataset and shows that dataset's source and retrieval date on every comparison. Where a figure could change soon — announced reforms, pending legislation — the report says so.
